Login via Facebook, go to the ‘Social Profile’ tab. Click on ‘Show Friends‘. You should see three columns labeled 0-th, 1-st and 2-nd degree. This denotes the degree of separation between you and the user listed under that column.

“Submit ads” doesn’t work from Linux/Chrome. /cc @xp
Submit Date : 04-26
Status = Resolved pending user checkout (as of 05-03).
Tech details - I’d forgotten to close the <form> element which no one other than our friends at Chrome seemed to care about. Nice catch @xp.
@svjayashree pointed out that “About” text is a little garbled on firefox on Mac.
Submit Date : 04-26
Status = Still waiting…Come on J!! Resolved (05/27 ). The left margin was too wide. once that was fixed, the rest fell into place. Thanks J.

Why did we move off Noah’s Classifieds?
We worked really hard at streamlining the new UI. The old Noah’s Classifieds based UI was very robust and flexible – if you’re an end user or website deployer. If you want to build a custom classifieds site, Noah’s code base is not really easy to navigate. In fact, we’re not even sure they want you to tweak their code. That being said, some of their code is really, really clever. Until we saw it in action in their code, we had no idea php could do some of the things they were making it do.
The only criticism of Noah’s code – what’s up with code comments in Hungarian ? Clearly not meant to be read by a global audience.
That being said, if all you want is to create a classifieds website, you can do worse than Noah’s.
What’s the design philosophy behind the new UI?
We decided upfront that we wanted a cool site – the kind of UI that Apple would make if they got in to the web development business. Being a site to post ads, we wanted a shallow website. We wanted people to be able to get out a site traversal with maximal ease. Logical tabs came in very handy to push that idea forward. The popup dialogs also added to that shallow feel we wanted to create.
Describe your website in 5 words -
Light, friendly, happy, stable, exciting.

On our plate this month (end Feb 15th/2010):
1) Re-imagining Lug-It as a green shipping model.
2) Starting our blog so we can converse with you more easily.
3) Designing mad competitions to drive traffic and increase user base. Keep your eyes peeled for this one.

We are building a kickass team of really smart people at Lug-It. Two things motivate us at Lug-It.
a) Waking up – try as we may, working in our sleep wasn’t working out for us : ). Waking up gives us that extra something that we use to make great things happen at Lug-It.
b) Everyone is an equal owner – We’re taking cues from the myriad success stories floating around. Here no one looks over your shoulder. If you feel it in your gut that some thing you want to try is right, JUST DO IT. We believe that you joined the team because you’re willing to run through walls to build a great product. Welcome aboard !
We’re small and scrappy but we’re also big and daring. Why else would we want to take on the multi billion dollar logistics systems of Fedex and UPS and DHL and so on ?

Hello World!
This is my first entry blog into the Lug-It blog. The plan is to use this blog to post upcoming competitions, site usage stats and happenings in the Lug-It world.
Our MANTRA : P2P Shipping Anywhere
Chetan and your’s truly (Sai) have an ambitious goal for Lug-It. Over the next five years, we want to make Lug-It synonymous with shipping. Just like you think Fedex or UPS, we want you to think Lug-It when you think of shipping. It’s been done before – Ebay was a 10 billion $ giant before the end of its first decade. Help us reach that goal – tell your friends about us and more critically – tell us when we go wrong. This shipping model is ALL about peers. We’d be amiss if we shut ourselves off from criticism.
Thanks for reading – talk to us. Email us at ADMIN at LUG-IT dot COM or leave a comment on the site.
